We are recruiting a Mobile Occupational Health Technician (OHT) on behalf of a well-established occupational health provider. This is a full-time, permanent role covering onsite clinics and client locations within a 60-mile radius of Cambridge.
The Role
You will be working across a variety of client sites delivering a range of occupational health services including health surveillance, fitness for work medicals, and drug and alcohol testing. Occasional clinic cover will also be required.
We're looking for a genuine hunter to join a high-performing commercial team. If you've built a desk from scratch and done it yourself, we want to hear from you.
The opportunity
You'll be the fourth BDM in a team where 3 out of 4 are consistently hitting target, and where top performers have generated £300,000+ in revenue for two consecutive years. This position has opened up because one of those performers is taking a well-earned year out — you'll step into a proven structure with clear evidence of what success looks like.
OTE is £60,000, and there is genuine potential to earn six figures for the right person.
What you'll be doing
Building from scratch. Sourcing, converting and onboarding your own accounts — targeting 4 new wins per month. The market is largely SME-focused, and that's where BDMs typically see the most traction. Consistent performance tends to come once you're managing around 100 active accounts, with larger accounts offering the biggest upside.
Who we're looking for
This is non-negotiable: you must have a demonstrable track record of building your own pipeline independently. We're not interested in inherited accounts, tender-heavy or procurement-led backgrounds, or NHS framework experience. We need someone who has generated their own revenue from zero and is genuinely self-sufficient.
A background in blue collar recruitment markets — construction, engineering or similar — is a bonus, but secondary to the hunter mindset.
The commission structure
Paid quarterly, with backdating once thresholds are hit:
5% on revenue up to £29,999
10% on revenue £30,000–£44,999
13% on revenue £45,000+
Year-end accelerators:
£120,000 annual revenue → all commission backdated to 10%
£180,000 annual revenue → all commission backdated to 13%
The role
Salary: £40,000–£45,000 DOE
Location: Hybrid — London SE16
First month in office full-time for onboarding and training
Ongoing: Tuesday and Thursday in office; Monday, Wednesday, Friday from home
Timeline
CVs are being reviewed immediately. Interviews are taking place next week. Ideal start date is end of October.
