Medigold Health acquires Health Management

Medigold Health Acquires Health Management: A Major Shift in the UK Occupational Health Landscape
A Landmark Move in Workplace Wellbeing
Northamptonshire-based Medigold Health, one of the UK’s leading occupational health providers, has announced the acquisition of Health Management. This bold move positions Medigold Health among the largest independent providers of workplace health and wellbeing solutions in the country.
The acquisition was supported by follow-on investment from BGF, which has backed Medigold Health since 2017. This partnership continues to fuel the company’s rapid expansion and innovation in the occupational health sector.
About Health Management
For more than 20 years, Health Management has been at the forefront of workplace health solutions. The company supports over 400 clients and two million employees across the UK, operating through 300 national clinics.
Its team of 400 professionals, including more than 30% clinical experts, has earned a strong reputation for helping prestigious organisations manage complex employee health needs.
Growth and Strategic Expansion
Medigold Health’s acquisition of Health Management continues a pattern of sustained growth. Over the past 12 years, the company’s revenue has increased by nearly 1,600%, reflecting both organic expansion and strategic acquisitions.
As a result of this deal, Medigold Health’s workforce will exceed 1,100 employees, including 600 clinicians. The combined business will now serve over 3,500 clients, representing approximately 4.5 million UK employees — or around 14% of the national workforce.
CEO Alex Goldsmith on the Future of Occupational Health
Medigold Health’s CEO, Alex Goldsmith, highlighted how workplace expectations have evolved since the pandemic:
“The pandemic brought a fundamental shift in how people work and how the workplace is defined. Employers are now re-evaluating how they can better support safety, health, and wellbeing as they compete for top talent.”
He continued:
“Organisations are demanding more from their occupational health providers. In response, we are investing in innovative solutions to meet these expectations while navigating an increasingly challenging economic environment.
Uniting decades of clinical heritage, our acquisition of Health Management ensures we can meet the evolving needs of UK employers. It also allows us to expand our national footprint, scale our clinical capacity, and make our services accessible to more businesses.”
Goldsmith added that integrating Health Management’s talented team was “too good an opportunity to turn down,” expressing excitement about blending the two companies in the coming months.
Investor Perspective: Continued Confidence from BGF
Fiona Gibson, Investor at BGF, expressed strong confidence in Medigold Health’s growth journey:
“We’re delighted to provide follow-on funding to Medigold. Alex and his team are building a market leader in occupational health, and we’re proud to support their next stage of expansion.”
Health Management’s View: A New Chapter
Margaret McNab, Managing Director of Health Management, described the acquisition as a pivotal step forward:
“This marks an exciting new chapter for Health Management. We’re building on our 20-year track record as a trusted partner to many of the UK’s leading companies. Together with Medigold Health, we’ll help even more employers keep their people in work, safe, and well.”
BGF’s Broader Regional Growth Strategy
BGF’s latest investment builds on its strong momentum in the Central and Eastern regions of England. Earlier this year, the firm announced plans to invest £300 million in early-stage and fast-growth businesses across Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, and East Anglia over the next five years.
In February, BGF also completed a £5 million investment in Northampton-based Soctim Advisory, a digital transformation partner for public sector organisations.
The BGF Central and East Growth Team, based in Cambridge, is focusing on these regions due to their concentration of innovative and entrepreneurial businesses.
What This Means for Occupational Health Recruitment
This acquisition highlights a broader trend of consolidation and innovation within the UK occupational health market. As major players expand, the demand for skilled OH professionals is increasing rapidly — particularly in clinical, advisory, and wellbeing roles.
OH Talent Solutions works closely with employers and candidates across this evolving sector, connecting leading organisations with qualified occupational health professionals nationwide.
